English

The Chinese like to play chess. That also means, in making changes to things that are long-range, or tactical, or strategic, their minds do not work as quickly as Americans…they cannot transform as readily. Another thing is, they might prepare 1, 2, or 3 possible plans, but if they go beyond the scope of those plans, they’ll sometimes have to get instructions from their bosses. This is because you have to involve the upper divisions, etc. Sometimes this makes you late and you have to put off your answer for a while. Sometimes compromises can’t be made either because they often don’t have the ability (i.e. authority) to make an immediate decision. So, on this point we can’t compare with the agility of the Americans.
