Bir nebze bahsetmek her zaman için iyidir műşteriyi memnun etmek açısından. Ancak hiç bir zaman için detayına girmemek gerekir dűşűncesindeyim. Zira konular farklı yorumlanabilir, dışardaki anlayışla burdaki anlayışlar farklıdır, demokratik dűşűnceler insanlara gőre değişebilir. O nedenle sizin őğrendiğiniz anladığınız bildiğiniz konuları burdan beklemek yersiz olabilir. O bakımdan konuya çok detayına girmeden sadece gőrűşlerinizi, işte, politik işler nasıl gidiyor, seçiminiz ne zaman anladığım kadarıyla bu sene seçim olacak, sizi etkileyecek mi? gibi çok genel bazı şeyleri sőylemenin yararlı olacağı kanısındayım. Ama kesinlikle detaylara girip falanca parti şőyle, filanca parti bőyle, cumhurbaşkanınız şőyle, başbakanınız bőyle gőrűşleri pek mantıklı olmaz. Daha doğrusu karşı tarafın gőrűşű size uymuyorsa, zor durumda kalabilirsiniz.

As you asked in your question, it is a very sensitive issue whether or not to talk about political matters in some business meetings here. Especially, a number of people would be glad to learn different opinions from a foreign guest who comes to Turkey. That is, sometimes this way your guests can easily understand that you care and are somewhat knowledgeable about different topics about Turkey. It is always good to talk about such topics a bit in terms of making the customer feel good. However, I believe that one should never go into the details. Because, different issues might be interpreted differently, the mentalities may be different between here and abroad, and the democratic ideas may change among people. For that reason, it may not be appropriate to look for similar understandings that you have learned and acquired in the past. From that point, I believe that without going into details, it would be beneficial to express your general opinions and ask general questions such as “How are political matters going?,” “When is your election, I believe this year there will be an election, is it going to affect you?” and so on. Yet, it is not so logical to go into details and say “such and such a party is like this, another party is like that, your president or prime minister is like this.” In other words, if the other side’s opinions do not match yours, you might put yourself into a bad situation.
