そうですね、ええ、まあ、日本ではですね、アメリカと違って、お互いの＊しんたい＊関係っていいますかね、その上にたってビジネスっていうのはやるっていうのが一般的な商慣習だと思っています。したがって、何でもかんでも文書にして、お互いがサインしてやりとりするっていうのは、何か堅苦しく感じるような雰囲気があって、避けられているのが現状だと思います。ただ、やはり国際間の取り引きでは、勿論言語だとか商慣習が違いますんで、お互いに交渉して、最後の段階で、合意事項に関しては、やはりはっきりした文書にして、お互いにサインし合って持ち合うのが、合った方が後で誤解をうむようなことがないんで、好ましいと思います。私も現にそういうことをしてきました。＊しんたい＊ He meant 「信頼（しんらい）」

Hmm…in Japan, well, it’s different from America, but you can say that more than human relations with each other, I think that the general business custom is to just do it. So, each one signs for whatever’s in writing, and there’s a give-and-take that has the feeling of a somewhat formal environment, and—well—I think this is avoiding the actual situation. Just in international dealings, of course the vocabulary and business customs differ, and in negotiating with each other, in order to be in agreement in the final steps—as can be expected—each one signs together for what is clearly written. I think it’s nice when you have an agreement so that afterwards there won’t be misunderstandings. I, too, presently do things that way.
