Turkey is a male dominated society in general, when we look at it. That is, as a structure, considering the historical and cultural process, it is not right not to ignore this. It really is a male dominated society. Yet, nowadays, I think this idea is fading away. Either from myself or from my connections, I believe that this idea is decreasing or disappearing. For instance, I, for myself, I am a banker, it does not matter much if a male or female comes to the business meeting, even it even matters at all. In other words, what matters for me is that being male or female; my counterpart should be knowledgeable about his or her subject and be able to communicate well. Or, it is the same thing, when I go to a business meeting, if my counterpart is male or female. What interests me is the other side’s knowledge and our mutual understanding. Likewise, I also do not think that if my counterpart is a woman or not is the central focus. We can put it this way too; for example, I am a manager in my workplace and there are female employees. We have been very content with our friends. Especially, they are very well-versed in their areas.
