Türkiye’de iş hayatı genellikle eve taşınabiliyor. Biraz yaygın olarak, yani, bildiğim kadarıyla taşınıyor. Fakat, ben şahsen pek taşımamaya çalışıyorum. Taşınmasının çok doğru olduğunu düşünmüyorum. Mesela, iş çıkışında, eve hiçbir zaman dosya ve iş götürmem, hiç götürdüğümü hatırlamıyorum. Götürmenin de doğru olduğunu düşünmüyorum. Mesela, çok nadiren, bazen işte çok olumsuz bir şey yaşadım diyelim, bu yüzüme yansıyor ister istemez. Eşim çok ısrar ediyor, ne oldu, ne yaptın falan. Anlatmamaya çalışıyorum ama, yine de çok ısrar olunca böyle kaçamak birkaç cevapla geçiştiriyorum. Bunun aile yaşantısını olumsuz etkileyeceğini düşünüyorum. Ben iş hayatını eve taşımanın veya aynı şekilde evde yaşanan olumsuz bir durumun işe taşınmasının yine olumsuz şeyler getireceğini düşünüyorum. Bu sebeple bu ayrıma ben çok dikkat ediyorum. Belki bu şöyle kültürel yapıyla da alakalı bir şey olabilir, yani, kültürel yapı da geliştikçe bu sınırların daha keskin bir şekilde ayrılacağını düşünmekteyim.

The work life may be carried over to home in Turkey. To my knowledge it is done commonly. Yet, personally, I try not to carry it over. I do not believe that it is quite right to carry it over. For instance, at the end of work, I never take a file or some kind of work home, I do not remember ever doing so. I do not think it is right to take it home. For example, rarely, if I went through something very negative at work, it will inevitably show on my face. My wife insists very much, and asks: What happened, what did you do? and so on. I try not to tell her, but still, after so much insistence, I try to get rid of it with some kind of evasive answers. I believe that it may affect the family life in a negative way. I believe that carrying work over at home and similarly, carrying some kind of a negative situation at home over the the workplace would bring negative things. For that reason, I am very careful about this separation. Maybe this is also about the cultural structure, that is, as the cultural structure improves, the lines in between may be drawn more clearly.
