Eu acho que isso vem a partir da ideia de que os americanos vão direto ao ponto. Então eu acho que por conta disso, parece também que eles estão com pressa, ‘ah não vamos acabar logo com isso.’ Eu não sei se isso é necessariamente uma coisa ruim porque pode parecer que eles estão com pressa mas acho que se você entende eles bem você vê que na verdade eles querem chegar ao ponto, eles querem conversar sobre o que eles vieram fazer, especialmente com relação a negócios e de negociações. O problema que eu vejo tomando uma perspectiva brasileira é que às vezes eles vão tão direto ao ponto, tão rápido que tudo acontece que você acaba perdendo a oportunidade de conhecer as pessoas melhor e de poder entender mais quem elas são e de onde elas vêm, que para nós brasileiros isso é muito importante. Mas não que isso seja necessariamente errado, que eles estão sempre com pressa ou querendo fazer tudo rapidinho, é que é só a maneira que as coisas são feitas.

I think this comes from the idea that Americans go straight to the point. So I think that because of this it also seems that they are in a hurry, ‘Oh, let’s get this done right away.’ I don’t know if this is necessarily a bad thing because it could appear that they are in a hurry but I think I you understand them well you will see that really they are just trying to get to the point, they want to talk about what they came to do, especially when related to business and negotiations. The problem I see when looking at it from a Brazilian perspective is that sometimes they go so straight to the point, so quickly on things that it seems that they are losing the chance to get to know people better, do know better who they are and where they came from, and for us Brazilians this is very important. But I don’t think this is necessarily wrong, that they are in a hurry or wanting to do things quickly, it is just a way that things are done.
