English

If what we’re talking about work, and getting up ea- early, I think most people eat breakfast, uh, at about seven. As for lunch, uh, comp-, most companies have lunch at 11:30. Dinner isn’t at any particular time because many companies work overtime. But I think an ideal time for dinner is between 5:30 and six. Uh, as for companies’ business hours, I think, because, uh, most companies in China have made 11:30 the start of their lunch break, and the following hour is a break period. That is, from 11:30 until 1:00 is a free period—a time to eat and rest. As for dinner, usually 5:00 is the official end of the work day. So 5:30 is, um, this is dinner time. But there’s a lot of overtime. So I think an ideal approach would be to, even if people have to work overtime, to let workers go out and have dinner at 5:30 then come back to work, to continue working on what the- they need to get done. Uh, or perhaps some bosses, they’ll order pizza or whatever for their employees. Uh, and, uh, and then there’s breakfast. These days people in China don’t think breakfast is very important. Many who are in a hurry probably don’t eat it. But if a company could set up a, uh, place for breakfast in the office, um, and provided breakfast to their employees, their employees would be ecstatic, extremely happy to, they’d probably work with more, even more of a will.
