ええ、日本では、基本的にはアメリカでの契約社会同様、契約書は必ず作る文化だと思います。但し、その契約書に書かれている内容でも基本的には合意をもって、中身と書かれていることが違うことを、まあ、会話の中で「ネゴ」と言いますが、あのう、交渉の中でよしとする場面が多々あります。そのへんは、厳密なアメリカでのビジネスの文化とは全く異なる部分だ思います。

Basically, in Japan, we definitely write contracts just like the ‘litigious’ American society. Yet, in general, there are many times when we come to terms with the written content of a contract as long as we agree in conversation during negotiations, even if the contents may differ from what is written. In that respect I think that this is different from the strict American business culture.
