Mi experiencia en cuanto a si es conveniente que una persona trate de regresar al tema del negocio y restarle la importancia a las cosas que pueden parecer totalmente accesorias o superfluas en una conversación es tratar de buscar un punto medio entre la visión hispana o latina y la visión americana. Muchas veces cuando un latino está conversando con alguien temas que pueden no parecer directamente relacionados con el negocio, lo que está haciendo es conociendo a la persona y está tratando de entrar en confianza con ella o simplemente tratar de descubrir si es que esa persona es una persona en la cual se pueda confiar ciegamente para hacer un negocio. A veces se da de que simplemente en base a esa confianza que se desarrolla por conversaciones informales se concrete en un negocio. Ahora obviamente todo tiene límites, ¿no? y de alguna manera siempre recomiendo de que la formalidad tiene que guardarse. Probablemente a veces conversando se llegue a un acuerdo pero eso debe siempre formalizarse con documentos escritos o la forma que legalmente sea necesaria, ¿no?

My experience as related to whether it is right for a person to try to get back on the topic or to be concerned about things that could seem totally unrelated or superfluous during the conversation would be to try to find some middle ground between the Hispanic or Latin way of seeing things and the American way of seeing things. Many times when Latin Americans are talking about some topic that doesn't seem directly related to business, what he is doing is trying to get to know the person and trying to establish some confidence in him or simply trying to see if this person is the type of person that he can blindly trust to do business with. At times, simply based on this trust that is developed through informal conversations, is the business completed. Now, obviously there are limits to everything, right? and in some way I recommend that one maintain a formality. Probably at times by conversing one will arrive at an agreement but this then has to be formalized with written documents or put in a form that is legally required, right?
