What we see very often in the U.S. is that when people do anything they always sign there name on some official document, also that look very seriously upon the law and how it protects people. This is especially true as they hire private lawyers to protect them and their rights and legal entitlements. Of course, there are two sides to this. I believe I look at the optimistic side more. First of all, I know that in my country there are myriad Chinese people whose understanding of the law is quite dim. This is something that we are trying very hard to reform. And the American emphasis on the law is something that we (the Chinese) could learn from. This is especially true in that the systematic and sensible nature (of the laws) could guarantee a lot of excellent protections for them in society. Once people move out into the society at large, leaving their schools and their families, the only protection that they can seek in society is the law. Therefore I feel that focusing more on the law should be one of most important developments for people from this day forward. Yet at the same time we can see that on the other side of its advantages, the law also has its abuses. Once you start to focus so much on the law you neglect certain issues of friendship and family.
