Globalleşen dünyada batılılarla aynı düzeyde iş hayatına girmek zorundayız.Bu itibarla mesela, bize gelen bir arkadaşımız saatlerce oturur karşınızda ve siz işinizi yapamaz duruma gelirsiniz. Bu bakımdan gerekirse bunlara bazı çareler de düşünebilirsiniz. Sekreterinize toplantınız vardı efendim 15 dakika sonra gibi… Ama batılılar bunu yapmazlar. Sizinle sadece iş konuşurlar ve arkadaşlık için başka vakit ayırabilirlerse eğer, őzel olarak o zamanlarda arkadaşlık yaparlar. İş hayatını kesinlikle arkadaşlığa karıştırmamak lazım.

It is one of Turkey’s greatest problems, that of mixing business life and friendship. In a globalizing world we need to think of the business life in the same way that westerners do. As to this topic, here, for example, a friend will come to us and sit with us for hours and we get to the point where we cannot do our jobs. For this reason, if necessary, you may even start thinking of ways to get out it, such as having your secretary give you a warning like “You have a meeting in 15 minutes.” Yet, the Westerners do not do this. They only talk business with you and if they can allocate time for friendship, they do friendship at that time. One should definitely not mix business with friendship.
