えっと「男らしさ」、ああ、多分これは日本の社会、日本の文化においては、世代によってその解釈の違いは全く異なると思うんですけれども、私の世代の特に女性、三十代後半の女性にとってはすごくいろんな意味合いを多分含んでいると思うんですけれども、私自身、で、しかも例えば専業主婦である女性と仕事をしている女性、本当の意味でキャリアを開拓している女性にとっても、男らしさっていうのは全然違うと思うんですけれども、私自身がぱっと思い浮かぶ男らしさっていうのは、やっぱり責任を、責任感かな、責任がとれるっていうのがすごく日本文化の中では尊重される男らしさなんじゃないかなと思います。ですから、要は、裏を返せば、優柔不断さがない、あとは言葉的に言えば有言実行的なところが多分すごく男らしいというふうに私の目にはうつります。ですから、それに対して、「女らしさ」っていうのはどうなんでしょうかね、これも多分世代によって全然違うと思うんですけれども、で、やっぱりおかれている環境とか、仕事をしているしていない、やっている仕事、男性が多い職場で仕事をしているとか、いろんなまたきりくちがあると思うんですけれども、私自身は、そうですね、女らしさっていうのは多分持って生まれた何かその女性にしか、女性特有の柔らかさとか女性にしかできないものって絶対あると思うので、それを絶対にどんなに、例えば男社会の中で仕事を一生懸命がんばっていても、ふっと肩の力が抜けた時にそれがきちんと出せるような女性はすごく女性から見ても素敵だなって思います。

For my generation, especially women who are older than mid thirties, I think there are various implications. And, I think masculinity differs totally among, for example, housewives, working women, and true career women. Masculinity that I come up against is accountability; being able to take responsibility is regarded as very masculine in Japanese culture.
